Father's Day Mustache themed!

I don't know what it is about this mustache trend, but I think it is so cute!  Now, Mr. Hubby, don't get any ideas, I'm not trendy enough to actually enjoy on anyone's face (except Tom Selleck), I just like the graphic!!  Did you see this "Little Man" Baby Shower that Emily at Remarkable Home did?
Love it!!  And I think it would totally be a super cute Father's Day theme for decor, party or cards!  I mean look at all her cute ideas:

Wouldn't a picture of dear old Dad look cute with a mustache and top hat to embellish him?!

So, inspired by this Tiny Prints card:

We made this little 5x7 printable:

You could even combine two of my favorite pins on pinterest:

Father's Day Printables and Mantle

I'm so glad when Daddy comes home...amen to that!! I know by the end of the day he can't come home soon enough and take over with the kids and...I could go on and on right!! We love our daddies and we wanted to make a fun printable to celebrate them. One of our favorite songs our kids like to sing is "I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home" and so we went with that and made a fun printable for you all to download.

We also like to decorate our lonely mantles (which never are lonely because we are ALWAYS celebrating some Holiday at our house!!) for Father's Day and made a father's day frame with some old ties for our printable. Then strung up some of our little guys ties and a club and ball and there you have it--Father's Day Mantle and printable. We have also included two of our other favorite printables for Father's Day that we have found out there in blogland...hope you enjoy and hope you take a moment to appreciate those daddies and all they do!!
Oh and if you do something fun in your house to show your dad that he is the man we would love to see it!!

Last Minute Memorial Day food: Liberty Goldfish!

Have you seen these special edition goldfish at the grocery store?  I just couldn't resist them!

We might write a holiday snob blog, but Glitta and I would be the last ones to claim we're "super moms!"  We don't always manage the perfect craft, meal, outfit, etc for every holiday (but we thought about it!) but creating our little holiday snobs hasn't really come from elaborate Martha layouts for every holiday.  It comes from loving a touch of holiday at the least.  So at our house this year, Memorial Day might be more like a simple day off from work, just hanging out!  But we'll have a treat or a snack that fits with the holiday, just for fun.

And who's kidding who, I have some full on red, white and blue outfits planned, I just didn't make them myself!

Anyway, thought we'd let you know about these fun snacks that just make the holiday sparkle a little bit for minimum effort.

Memorial Day Menu

Well we are gearing up for the big weekend--how about you?
I always LOVE Memorial Day because the pool opens and it means school is almost out and summer is here...and I always love a good BBQ.
So we have put together a fun Memorial Day Menu printable (it is really fun for all summer we think)
that you can print off in an 8x10 along with some cake toppers to match.
Have you noticed the fun anchor theme everywhere? LOVIN it!!

So here is the menu printable for 8x10. We put ours in a frame and then wrote our menu on the glass with a dry erase marker!

Now I know I say this ALOT, but do you notice all of the super cute anchor themed partyware, well can you guess where it is from? Of course...Target. All for $2 or less. And you just can't NOT buy it right?! So definitely hit your favorite one soon before that line sells out!!
Now onto our Memorial Day Menu:
Drinks: Lemonade Icees from the cheekykitchen.com
Appetizer: Red, White and Blue Berries from 2.bp.blogspot.com
 Oven Baked Fries and Burgers

These are available to order from 1-800-flowers

not my burger, found this image here

Dot's Red, White and Bleu Burger

Hamburger patties (I prefer the Costco pre-formed Sirloin burgers, in the frozen section)
Buns or rolls (I prefer the bakery sesame seed kind)
Bacon, thick cut, applewood smoked, cooked
Bleu Cheese
BBQ sauce, I like the Tony Roma kind from the grocery store
Mayo
Carmelized onions
Arugula or Crisp lettuce

I cook the patties to Medium-well, and toast the buns.  Put the bleu cheese on each patty right as you take it off the grill.  It won't really melt, but it softens.  Toast the buns on the grill.  Layer Mayo and BBQ sauce on each side of the bun.  Top your burger with carmelized onion, lettuce or arugula, and bacon.  For this recipe the bleu cheese is technically the "white" and the "bleu."  But believe me, it's so tasty that you're not going to want to mess with it so that it fits the actual title perfectly!!

June Craft Night Sneak Peek

Okay guys, we are super excited to show off our craft for next month's Craft Night!  We've got a 3 holidays in one wreath, all layered over a red tulle wreath!!  (We might be completely enamored with tulle wreaths...)

The first incarnation is the "Summer" wreath with a watermelon for the "u."

The second version is the other side of the board, as a 4th of July wreath.

The final version (although I'm kinda thinking we could make a Valentine's one as well!!!) is a Christmas wreath.  This wreath will include adding ribbon to the tulle and a star hanging in the middle.  This version is actually Dot's from last Christmas, inspired by I Am Momma: Hear Me Roar.

The Christmas wreath kit will include the vinyl lettering of the quote below to place on your door.  It's from the Bible, "For we have seen his star in the east."

We'll post our tutorial after we host our Craft Night.  If you're in the Denver area and would like to attend on June 9th, email us at holidaysnob@gmail.com.  Also, we'll get the finished products and craft kits into our etsy shop if you're interested!

Wish banner tutorial

If you can't tell, we've gone birthday crazy around here!  It started with our Birthday Block Craft Night.  We made a "Wish" banner to give away in a drawing and just got carried away!

We made the cupcake embellishments by layering a crepe paper rosette over a mini cupcake liner.

And I thought I'd show you guys how I made the birthday candle embellishment

Just a small roll of turquoise glitter paper, hot glued to stay.

Then I twisted one end of a crepe paper streamer until it felt sturdy then folded a larger piece out to make the "flame."  Don't cut it, just bring more down and wrap it around the base you've created.

Then just a dab of hot glue on the base and stick it in the "candle" roll.

These banners are 6"x6" squares, with "Wish" cut out in the "Cindy Lou" font from Cricut in 3", all caps.  We distressed the edges with an ink pad of both the squares and the letters.  Then the paper was hot glued to ruffled crepe paper streamers.

Like?  Let us know :)

Birthday blocks tutorial

Okay, finally getting a chance to post about our last Craft Night, even as we have May's Craft Night happening soon!  We don't quite have a picture for EVERY step and all these were taken at night, so please forgive the quality!

1.  First you'll need about 80 inches of ruffled crepe paper.  We just fed the streamers through the sewing machine, ruffling manually.

2.  We made the cake stands by using Gorilla Glue to attach a glass candlestick to a plate.  We Modge-podged paper onto the plate, but didn't include a picture of that.

3.  Next, use hot glue to attach crepe paper around the outside of the plate.  It will cover any uneven cutting of the paper :)

4.  For the blocks we used a 4x4x8 piece of wood, and then cut it into an 8" long rectangle, 6" rectangle and a 3.5" square for the top and painted them white.

5.  For the middle block, we covered it in two lines of ruffled streamers.  Use hot glue to make a line, then press the sewn middle of the streamer into the line of glue.  Wrap around all four sides.  Then repeat for a second layer of ruffles.

6.  The square and 8" rectangle were covered in paper.  For the square you'll need 6 different patterns, cut into 3.25" x 3.25" squares.  For the rectangle you'll only need two long pieces, 7.75"x 3.25", and two squares, 3.25" x 3.25"  The bottom of the block won't ever show and the top of the block is mostly covered by the ruffled rectangle above it.

7.  Mod-podge the paper on.

Here's a picture of the blocks finished through these steps so far:

Here's a picture of the Craft Night kits set up and ready to go.  (Which, by the way, we will be putting onto our etsy shop in addition to the finished sets.)

10.  We added vinyl to the bottom and top pieces of wood. We cut "days until my" in Simply Sweet at 1" and "Birthday!" in 1.5".   Then we cut numbers 0-5 in 3 inches

This set was made by Glitta's sister, isn't it cute??

And here's some pix of some of the crafters.  All the sets turned out so cute and we had so much fun!  Thanks ladies for indulging our snobbery!
